Father God, thank you for helping me see the very clear and simple truth of my need to obey your Word and, through your Spirit, please give me the strength to obey it. Forgive me for getting so wrapped up in the nuances of religious discussion that I forget the profound simplicity of obeying your truth from my heart. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Following a life disrupting event like a house fire are the usual fears and worries that accompany such an experience.  However, if we allow, also comes reevaluation, new meaning and perspective… renewal, even.  I am not there yet, but I can see the way a bit more clearly.

When peace like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
