Alien in the Church House

One day a visitor from another planet came to earth to try and understand what earthlings are like. Since he happened to land in a highly Christian area of the United States he decided to observe the culture and try to figure out what this religion was all about. He walked around observing whatever he saw that looked Christian in order to get a clear picture of this strange religion. After watching several hours of television he began to think this religion was dedicated to the accumulation of wealth in order to appease a strange deity called “Prosperity”. As he observed this…

I choose to attend a liturgical church because at core I am not a very good Christian. I am undisciplined and I’ve found the structure, reverence, and focus of a liturgical protestant church allows me to best grow and learn.

Though the service at such a church is often unique in its beauty with the canters and kyries and organ music, I want more than mere religion. I want to serve God. I want my life to better reflect Christian values. I want to give shape and color to my beliefs by living.
